Snow White Movie: Gal Gadot Teases Her Evil Queen Performance

In a recent interview with Vogue Hong Kong, Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot has opened up about Disney’s upcoming live-action Snow White movie, teasing her portrayal of the Evil Queen. Gadot shared how much she enjoyed filming the upcoming adaptation due to its fairytale and musical aspects, which definitely influence her performance.

“I think it was so much fun to play the Evil Queen,” Gadot said. “There was something so delicious with this part because it’s a fairy tale. It’s the first Disney villain. Because it’s a musical, I could stretch my performance and make it so much more dramatic and so much more animated, that it was just simply delightful. I enjoyed it, and I changed my voice and I did all these different things. And it was just super fun, and I can’t wait to watch it.”

Who’s Involved Live-Action Snow White Movie?

Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Snow White is based on the studio’s first animated classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which debuted over 80 years ago and started Disney’s success with animated films. It was also inspired by the 1812 German fairy tale written by the Brothers Grimm.

The film will be led by Rachel Zegler (West Side Story, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes) in the titular role, with Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen. Joining them are Andrew Burnap as Jonathan and Martin Klebba as Grumpy. Set to be directed and produced by Marc Webb from a screenplay by Greta Gerwig and Erin Cressida Wilson, the project is expected to expand the story and music from the original. La La Land and The Greatest Showman duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul are also attached to write new songs for the adaptation.

This project is part of Disney’s growing list of upcoming live-action projects including Moana, Hercules, Lilo & Stitch, and Bambi along with sequels to The Lion King, Aladdin, and the recently released Cruella.
