“I am excited to bring awareness to a very important subject matter via a suspenseful, action-filled film,” said Peter Facinelli. “On Fire takes you on an intense, nail-biting journey inside the harrowing experience of a family trapped by a wildfire, fighting for their survival. The film also pays tribute to the incredible support from first responders and the unwavering courage displayed by firefighters.
“My hope is that this film will not only entertain but also inspire viewers to take action in safeguarding our planet’s future. I can’t wait for audiences nationwide to experience this film on the big screen September 29. In choosing this release date just before Fire Prevention Week, our hope is to inspire viewers to be uber vigilant during these times of extreme heat and to prepare for anything if they are in a fire-prone area.”
“On Fire holds a special significance for me as a filmmaker,” said Director Nick Lyon. “My goal was to raise awareness about the escalating issue of wildfires across the globe. It all began with a simple treatment back in 2017, sparked by a camping trip with my sons, where the haunting idea of being surrounded by a forest fire took root. Combining my experience as a filmmaker in lighting, fog, smoke, real fire, and visual effects, I created a survival disaster movie set amidst a forest fire, pushing the boundaries of what was achievable within our budget constraints. The result is a film that I am eager for audiences to experience in theaters that will not only captivate but also inspire action in addressing the urgent global issue of wildfires.”
On Fire was written by Ron Peer and Nick Lyon and directed by Lyon and Facinelli. It stars Peter Facinelli, Fiona Dourif, Asher Angel, Lance Henriksen, Glenn Morshower, and Ross McCall.
