Shudder September 2023 Schedule: New TV & Movie Release Dates

A modern take on Mary Shelley’s well-known 1818 novel Frankenstein story is topping the Shudder September 2023 schedule.

Starting September 22, fans can watch the critically acclaimed The Angry Black Girl and Her Monster horror movie on Shudder. Written and directed by Bomani J. Story, the film first premiered at this year’s SXSW. It stars Laya DeLeon Hayes, Denzel Whitaker, Chad L. Coleman, Reilly Brooke Stith, and Keith Holliday. Following the brutal and abrupt assassination of her brother, Vicaria (DeLeon Hayes) sets forth on a dangerous quest to restore his life, as the young woman believes death is a disease that can be cured.

The list of intriguing titles heading to Shudder in September includes Perpetrator, a horror movie written and directed by Jennifer Reeder. The story follows Jonny Baptiste (Kiah McKirnan), an impulsive adolescent who undergoes a profound transformation induced by a familial enchantment known as Forevering upon reaching her 18th birthday. As several teenage girls vanish from her recently enrolled school, Jonny sets out to pursue the one responsible. The cast includes Christopher Lowell, Melanie Liburd, Ireon Roach, and Alicia Silverstone. The movie will be available starting September 1.

A Shudder original is making its way to the AMC Networks’ streaming service as Elevator Game premieres on September 15. Directed by Rebekah McKendry, the story follows a young teenager investigating what happened to his sister after playing the so-called “Elevator Game,” a ritual conducted in an elevator. It stars Gino Anania, Alec Carlos, Megan Best, Nazariy Demkowicz, Verity Marks, Madison MacIsaac, and Samantha Halas.
