The show follows Fionna the Human, a gender-swapped version of Finn, and Cake the Cat, a gender-swapped version of Jake the Dog. The duo go on various adventures with Simon Petrikov, a character known as the Ice King, throughout most of the original Adventure Time series.

The voice cast includes Madeleine Martin as Fionna and Roz Ryan as Cake. Other cast members include Tom Kenny as Simon Petrikov, Dee Bradley Baker as Ratbus, Erica Mendez and Cristina Valenzuela as Skater Fairies, Vico Ortez as Hunter/Fern, Pendleton Ward as Ellis P, Jeremy Shada as Finn the Human, and Chelsea Peretti as Queenie.

When do new Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake episodes come out?

New episodes of the show typically come out every Thursday.

The first two episodes are currently available to watch on Max. New episodes will air in pairs between September 7, 2023, and September 28, 2023.

The series’ official synopsis reads:

“Fionna and Cake – with the help of the former Ice King, Simon Petrikov – embark on a multiverse-hopping adventure and journey of self-discovery. All the while, a powerful new antagonist determined to track them down and erase them from existence lurks in the shadows.”
