A new episode means a new list of the Star Wars: Ahsoka episode 6 Easter eggs and references. Here’s a compilation of the nods and secrets featured in the latest episode, including that classic “A long time ago” line.
List of Ahsoka episode 6 Easter eggs
“A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…”
When Ahsoka asks Huyang to tell her some stories he had taught at the Jedi temple, Huyang begins a story by saying, “A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…” This confirms that the iconic tagline before the opening crawl of each main installment of the Star Wars film franchise is canon in the universe.
The Great Mothers of the Nightsister world of Peridea’s names
Ahsoka episode 6 introduces Peridea, the homeworld of the Nightsisters where Grand Admiral Thrawn was banished to. Interestingly, the three Great Mothers of the Nighsisters who are introduced in the episode are named after the three sisters of fate from Greek mythology, albeit with different spellings. The Greek sisters of fate are named Atropos, Clotho, and Lahkesis, while the Great Mothers of the Nightsisters are named Aktropaw, Klothow, and Lakesis.
Night Troopers
Ahsoka episode 6 gives viewers their first look at “Night Troopers,” soldiers who resemble the Stormtroopers from the Galactic Empire. However, there is a possibility that these soldiers are undead and may have been created with the help of the Nightsisters, implying that Grand Admiral Thrawn may be working with them.
Bokken Jedi
Ahsoka episode 6 finally introduces Ezra Bridger in live-action. Not only that, Baylan Skoll says that Ezra belongs to the “Bokken Jedi,” a group of Jedi who were trained as Padawan following the fall of the Jedi temple in Order 66. This makes sense given that Ezra was trained by Kanan Jarrus years after the Jedi Order fell. This reveal redefines the entire Star Wars canon, confirming that Luke Skywalker and Rey were also Bokken Jedi when they trained in the Jedi arts.
Sabine Wren rides a Howler
Sabine Wren rides a reptilian creature known as the Howler to Ezra’s location. Avid Star Wars fans will know the Howler as a creature that first appeared in the video game Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.
A new hyperspace effect is introduced
Ahsoka episode 6 opens with a new hyperspace effect that has multiple colored streaks compared to the standard hyperspace effect many Star Wars fans know, which consists of just blue and white streaks.
