Bumper In Berlin Season 2: Pitch Perfect Spin-off Canceled by Peacock

Bumper in Berlin Season 2 has been canceled by Peacock, as the Pitch Perfect spin-off has its renewal reversed. Deadline reports that the cancellation is due to the length of the work stoppage during the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, as productions have been delayed and have missed their target release dates.

Why Was Bumper in Berlin Canceled?

Bumper in Berlin debuted in November 2022. The reporting notes that the comedy series did not begin pre-production on season 2 when the WGA strike began in May. The spin-off is said to be significantly behind its planned timeline, which would have impacted Peacock’s existing schedule and budget.

Bumper in Berlin joins A League of Their Own Season 2 and The Peripheral Season 2, which had their renewals reversed for reportedly similar reasons.

“In the new series for Peacock, several years after we last saw him in Pitch Perfect, Adam Devine’s Bumper Allen moves to Germany to revive his music career when one of his songs becomes big in Berlin,” reads the synopsis for Bumper in Berlin.

Alongside Adam Devine, the cast includes Jameela Jamil, Sarah Hyland, Lera Abova, Udo Kier, and Diana Birenyte.

Megan Amran serves as showrunner and also an executive producer. Devine also executive produces alongside Elizabeth Banks and Max Handelman of Brownstone Productions, and Paul Brooks and Scott Neimeyer of Gold Circle Films. The series hails from Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
