A brand new Killers of the Flower Moon video for Martin Scorsese’s next epic drama has been revealed, featuring the Oscar-winning filmmaker and his all-star cast as they discussed the story’s historical significance. The film had its world premiere at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival and is currently slated to arrive in theaters on October 20.
The video introduces the three main characters of Killers of the Flower Moon — Leonardo DiCaprio’s Ernest Burkhart, Lily Gladstone’s Mollie Burkhart, and Robert De Niro’s William Hale. The trio’s interconnected storyline revolves around the Oklahoma murders in the oil-wealthy Osage Nation during the 1920s. It also highlights Scorsese’s passion for telling this tragic story as honestly as possible in hopes of providing awareness of the immensity of the tragedy.

What to expect in Killers of the Flower Moon?
“At the turn of the 20th century, oil brought a fortune to the Osage Nation, who became some of the richest people in the world overnight,” the official synopsis reads. “The wealth of these Native Americans immediately attracted white interlopers, who manipulated, extorted, and stole as much Osage money as they could before resorting to murder. Based on David Grann’s bestselling book of the same name, Killers of the Flower Moon is set in 1920s Oklahoma and depicts the serial murder of members of the oil-wealthy Osage Nation, a string of brutal crimes that came to be known as the Reign of Terror. Joining DiCaprio, De Niro, and Gladstone are Jesse Plemons, Tantoo Cardinal, John Lithgow, Brendan Fraser, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, Jillian Dion, William Belleau, Louis Cancelmi, Tatanka Means, Michael Abbott Jr., Pat Healy, Scott Shepherd, Jason Isbell, and Sturgill Simpson.
The film is directed and produced by Scorsese from a screenplay he co-wrote with Eric Roth. it is produced by Dan Friedkin, Bradly Thomas, and Daniel Lupi, with DiCaprio, Rick Yorn, Adam Somner, Marianne Bower, Lisa Frechette, John Atwood, Shea Kammer, and Niels Juul serving as executive producers.
