Life on Our Planet Trailer Unravels Earth’s Greatest Battle for Survival

Bringing long-extinct creatures back to life using the latest science and technology, Netflix has unveiled the trailer for Life on Our Planet, which will explore life’s epic battle for survival on Earth. Narrated by Morgan Freeman, the upcoming nature documentary series will premiere globally on October 25, 2023.

Illustrating the Rise and Fall of Prehistoric Creatures

The docuseries will bring the extinct creatures back from the dead in a groundbreaking photorealistic manner, highlighting the Earth’s earlier years, the rise and fall of prehistoric species, and the rise of what is considered to be the most dangerous animal to ever exist: humans.

“This is the story of life’s epic battle to conquer and survive on planet Earth. Today there are 20 million species on our planet, yet what we see is just a snapshot in time — 99% of earth’s inhabitants are lost to our deep past. The story of what happened to these dynasties — their rise and their fall – is truly remarkable,” the logline reads.

The Incredible Story of Life on Earth

Life on Our Planet will feature 65 extinct animals throughout the series’ eight chapters, including Lystrosaurus, Woolly Mammoths, Plateosaurus, Anchiornis, and Tyrannosaurus Rex, to mention a few. Each chapter will also tackle the Earth’s rich history, such as the mass extinction events, life beneath the ocean, life’s way of invading the land, the history of reptilian giants, the aftermath of the planet-killing asteroid, the rise of mammals, and the ice age.

Silverback Films, the team behind award-winning docuseries Our Planet, teamed up with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment to create Life on Our Planet, alongside producers Dan Tapster, Keith Scholey, and Alastair Fothergill, with Alastair Fothergill, Keith Scholey, Darryl Frank, and Justin Falvey serving executive producing.

Life on Our Planet will grace Netflix on October 23. You can check out the official posters below.
