PBS will be bringing the acclaimed ITV miniseries MaryLand to the United States. Starring Suranne Jones (Gentleman Jack), Eve Best (House of the Dragon), and Stockard Channing (The West Wing), the drama series will premiere on PBS on April 7, 2024.
Maryland Is an Emotional Love Story About Sisterhood
Co-created by Anne-Marie O’Connor and MaryLand star Jones, the three-part family drama follows two estranged sisters — Becca (Jones) and Rosaline (Best) — reunited after the sudden death of their mother, Mary, on the Isle of Man.
Along their journey of grief and acceptance, the two met their mother’s friend, Cathy (Channing), who appears to know more about their late mother than they do. As they learn more about their mother’s secret life, the two discover more about themselves, “what binds them together, and what has driven them apart.”
MaryLand also stars George Costigan as Richard, Hugh Quarshie as Pete, Dean Lennox Kelly as Jacob, Andrew Knott as Jim, and Rhiannon Clements as Lauren.

“MaryLand is a story about two sisters, about what binds them together and what has driven them apart. Becca and Rosaline find themselves thrown together by the sudden death of their mother, Mary. They come to find out that she was living an entirely secret life on the Isle of Man, far from her home, with her husband, Becca and Rosaline’s father,” the logline reads. “Becca and Rosaline find themselves asking fundamental questions about their identities and the relationships with the men in their lives. Mary’s death offers them a chance to not only reframe their relationship but fundamentally reshape who they are. At its heart, MaryLand is a love story of two sisters.”
