Fans want to know whether or not there are early screenings for Saw X. If you are among those hoping to watch the new Saw 10 movie early, here is everything you need to know.
Can you watch Saw X early?
There are no official ways for non-media to watch Saw X early before its theatrical debut on September 29, 2023.
However, according to JoBlo, some critics had managed to see the movie early and posted their reactions on X, once the review embargo was lifted. Here is what they had to say:
- Tyler Nichols, aka @zombievictim, managed to catch Saw X at a screening in Las Vegas last week. According to the outlet, Nichols said on X that the film was a return to form for the series. Nichols also said that Shawnee Smith delivers a scene-stealing performance as Amanda and that Tobin Bell gives his best performance as John Kramer.
- Shannabelle Come Home, also managed to see the film early and said that the film brought back the original essence of the Saw franchise. She also praised the traps shown in the film and said that audiences will get a deeper insight into John Kramer’s character.
- Kaitlyn Booth aka @katiesmovies, a critic and new fan of the Saw franchise, also saw the film early and said she understood how interest in the Saw franchise would dwindle if Tobin Bell was not involved, as he is something in the role, though she also stated that she was still on the fence about fully becoming a Saw fan.
- Simon Thompson, another critic and early viewer of the film, said that Saw X is one of the best films of the franchise and that the decision to put John Kramer front and center was brilliant. Thompson also praised the performances of Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith as Kramer and Amanda, respectively, and the traps that were seen in the film.
Why is Saw X releasing early?
As fans know, Saw X was originally scheduled for October 27, 2023, only for the film to be moved up to its current September 29, 2023 release date.
According to Deadline, this is because Saw X performed incredibly well at test screenings with test audiences and also because Lionsgate was excited about a sequel for Saw X.
