No One Will Save You Ending Explained

What happened to Maude in No One Will Save You’s Ending?

The ending of No One Will Save You reveals that Brynn killed Maude by hitting her with a stone.

In the film’s final act, Brynn gets picked up by the aliens. As they start to look into her mind, she has to relive her childhood trauma where she sees her younger self involved in a quarrel with her best friend Maude. After Maude pushes her, Brynn picks up a stone and hits her back, killing her.

It all happened in the heat of the moment, and she did not intend to kill her friend. Nevertheless, Maude died, and Brynn has lived with regret for the rest of her life.

What happened to Brynn at the end?

The aliens allowed Brynn to survive and turned her dreams into reality.

Looking into Brynn’s mind, the aliens saw the trauma that Brynn had been through. However, they also saw how Brynn finally accepted her past and forgave herself. As a result, they decided to give Brynn a second chance and everything she longed for in her life.

At the beginning of the film, we saw Brynn making dresses, building idyllic dioramas of Mill River, dancing around her house, cooking for herself, and going around town while trying to make friends. Because of what happened in her childhood, the townsfolk never gave her a second chance. So, the aliens warped the minds of the entire town (including Brynn’s) and turned her dreams into a reality.

In the end, the entire town was happy under the aliens’ control. It looked like the dioramas that Brynn designed, and the final scene showed her dancing with her crush and the new friends that she made. Ultimately, it’s a very twisted happily ever after for Brynn.
