A good gaming mouse can absolutely be a game changer and the difference between success and defeat in a pivotal first-person shooter showdown. The Razer Cobra Pro is a highly customizable and reliable mouse that features plenty of visual flair thanks to its 11 Chroma RGB lighting zones. It winds up delivering hyperspeed wireless play at a price that won’t break the bank.
One aspect that the Cobra Pro immediately impresses is in terms of comfort. Designed for right hands, it has a symmetrical compact form factor that feels natural to use. The sides have a nice grip to them, which keeps the mouse from ever slipping during intense play sessions. There’s no trade-off here, as it has struck a great balance being both visually pleasing and a joy to use.
Of course, comfort means nothing if performance is off, and thankfully, the Razer Cobra Pro succeeds there as well. Using a Focus Pro 30K Optical Sensor, it has a sensitivity of 30,000 dots per inch and a 99.8% resolution accuracy. It’s even able to track flawlessly on glass that is at least 4 mm thick, so it’s usable even in less-than-optimal conditions.
This is all paired with an impressive battery life as well. If you’re using Razer HyperSpeed Wireless at 2.4 GHz, you can expect up to 100 hours on a charge (for Bluetooth, you’ll get nearly 170 hours). That’s really impressive, and it also comes with a cable you can use if you prefer the safety of a wired connection, although I couldn’t tell the difference in performance and preferred playing wirelessly as a result.
What’s really cool is how customizable the Cobra Pro is. By using Razer Synapse, you can configure button mappings, macros, and lighting effects, which are really impressive with both the scroll wheel and underglow lighting looking fantastic. You’re even able to have five onboard memory profiles that stay with the mouse, so you’re able to use these profiles across multiple devices. It’s a really convenient feature and saves time as you won’t have to constantly reconfigure your mouse.
