HiDive announced on Wednesday that it would be giving the anime film The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes would be getting a theatrical release beginning later this year.
The theatrical run for the film will begin on November 3, 2023, with tickets available for sale beginning on October 10, 2023. The world premiere of the English dub version of the film will also premiere on October 12, during the 2023 New York Comic Con.
What is The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes about?
The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes is based on a Japanese light novel written by Mei Hachimoku and illustrated by Kukka, which was originally published in July 2019. Since then, the light novel has received a manga adaptation, which has been going since July 2020, as well as the planned film.
“One summer morning before school, Kaoru hears an unsettling rumor — of a mysterious tunnel that can grant any wish to those who enter it, but ages them dramatically in exchange,” reads the official synopsis for the light novel.
